Hi there! My name is Ashley Duggar and I am the founder and CEO of The Cookie Jar. I am an American who moved to V\u00e4nersborg in August of 2024 to be with the love of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In May of 2025 I decided I wanted to follow through with a long lost dream I have had: to own and operate my own cafe… Ok well, this isn’t a cafe just yet, but this is the start to my dream. I intend to bring my own American flare to my cookies. Introduce Sweden to the best sides of American pastries for their everyday fika, and in doing so build community for fika lovers everywhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These cookies are the beginning of a dream. One day I will build that cafe I have always wanted, but in the meantime enjoy these delicious cookies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some have a long history, such as my peanut butter cookie. I remember min moster (little svengelska) teaching me how to make those cookies when I was 10 (25 years ago… I know, I can’t believe that either). The key was that you could never add too much peanut butter, according to her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My seasonal, but well-loved, Pecan Pie cookie also has a history. The filling for that cookie is based entirely on my mormors Pecan Pie recipe. A favorite that I serve to my close friends and family here during our annual American Thanksgiving celebration in November. Also a long time tradition to be served in my family for as long as I can remember. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I bring the love of baking in my family, and the commitment to excellence and hard work into every cookie I serve. All cookies are baked fresh every week. You are guaranteed to be eating a cookie I baked just the day before. I even add the filling in the evening before baking so that the flavors can really incorporate with one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love this community, and I love Sweden, and I cannot wait to build this community building cafe with all of you. See you on Saturday in V\u00e4nersborgs Torg from 9-14.
